MOVING TO THE NEXT LEVEL
The thief's purpose is to steal and kill and destroy.
My purpose is to give life in all its fullness.
John 10:10
And when you fast, don't make it obvious, as the hypocrites
do, who try to look pale and disheveled so people will admire
them for their fasting. I assure you, that is the only reward
they will ever get.”
Matthew 6:16
Followers Fast!
A biblical fast is not a diet; it is for
value not vanity.
Biblical fasting is the spiritual
discipline of redirecting our appetite
from physical things to the things of
God.
"No! The Scriptures say, 'People need more
than bread for their life; they must
feed on every word of God.' "
Matthew 4:4
Discipline is doing what you ought to
do; so that you can do what you want to
do.
A cord of three strands is not quickly
broken.
Ecclesiastes 4:12
What happens when we fast?
-
Incredible Perspective
(like Jehoshaphat in 2 Chronicles 20 and David in Psalm 34)
-
The Potential and Power of God will be
released in my life.
(we see this from the example of Jesus Matthew 4)
-
A Break Through
(like Daniel in Daniel 10)
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst
for righteousness,
for they will be
filled.
Matthew 5:6
And so, dear brothers and sisters, I
plead with you to give your bodies to
God. Let them be a living and holy
sacrifice — the kind he will accept.
When you think of what he has done for
you, is this too much to ask?
Romans 12:1
